Program Description:

The University at Albany has a long standing relationship with the University of Glasgow. Whether participating on the study abroad or exchange program (limited spaces), the University of Glasgow is a wonderful location to study abroad. The University has visiting students from all over the world who are eligible to take a variety of coursework in a diverse range of subjects with local students for an enriching and cultural experience. The city of Glasgow is known throughout the world as a friendly and welcoming place and a vibrant cultural center. As part of this city, the University community provides a rich cultural, social and educational mix which appeals to students and staff from all over the world. By choosing to study at the University of Glasgow you will join students from over 100 different countries, making up 15% of the total student community. Close to the Scottish Highlands, with Loch Lomond and stunning Scottish countryside less than an hour’s drive from Glasgow, the city is a short train ride away that will allow you to explore the many attractions of Edinburgh, including the world's largest summer festival.

The University of Glasgow is offering a 4 week Functional Anatomy Class during the summer 2015, awarding 4 credits upon completion. This course is designed specifically for students intending to apply for medical (or dental) school, or those currently enrolled in a clinical school that lacks hands-on anatomical experiences. It aims to: Introduce and demonstrate the use of medical terminology, Introduce the principles of radiology and identification of structures radiologically, Develop an understanding of regional anatomy, Demonstrate clinical application of anatomical knowledge, Develop strong basic techniques in dissection. Setting Description:

Accommodation in your own room is included in the program. Rooms are part of the University of Glasgow's self-contained flats including well-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Normally 4-5 other students will share the flat. The flats are located in the University’s Student accommodation, which is within easy walking distance of both the main campus (where classes will take place), and of the renowned West End of Glasgow.
