- Program Description:
This certificate is designed to provide an understanding of the elements of the theory and practice of national security policy, process, and implementation both at the level of grand strategy as well as on the tactical level. Significant parts of this certificate program address a number of vital current policy issues. Only one area course may be taken with this specialization.
Introductory Courses (Required): National Security Policy Process; U.S. National Security Strategy and Emerging Threats.
Choose one of the following courses: Chinese Grand Strategy: Foreign and Military Policy; Islam and Geopolitics in Eurasia; Islam in Contemporary Global Politics; U.S.-Latin American Relations: Threats and Opportunities; Russian Politics and Foreign Policy; U.S.-African Relations.
Choose two of the following courses: Economic Statecraft and Conflict; Counterintelligence in a Democratic Society; Political Warfare: Past, Present and Future; Intelligence and Policy; Military Strategy: An Overview of the Theorists of Warfare; Japan: Old and New; Information Operations and Information Warfare; Nuclear Weapons Proliferation; Terrorism and Counterterrorism.
