Program Description:
Students choose from interdisciplinary courses related to understanding the role of religion in creating systemic social change toward more just social structures. The Religion and Social Change Certificate is awarded upon the successful completion of a set of four courses (totaling 12-16 quarter hours) within the Social Change curriculum. For example, students may choose courses such as: Foundations of Social change; Social Change Struggles courses; Social Change Praxis courses (two praxis seminars are counted as the equivalent of one course); Race, Gender, Class, Ethical Perspectives on Justice and Peace; Social Construction and Selfhood; Impact of War on the Pastoral Care of Families; and other social change electives.
