Program Overview
- Program Description:
- The University of Denver offers four on-campus Master of Social Work (MSW) program options, built around the academic preparation and interests of our students: Two-year program The two-year MSW program is open to students with bachelor's degrees in academic fields other than social work. As a two-year MSW student, you enter the program in fall quarter. During your foundation curriculum, you acquire a broad, basic knowledge of social work. After two quarters of foundation study, you'll begin your concentration curriculum, specializing in a particular field of social work practice called a "concentration." Advanced standing If you already have a bachelor of social work (BSW) degree, you will enter our MSW program with advanced standing. Students with advanced standing enter the program in early July, begin their concentration curriculum in fall quarter and may complete the MSW degree in one calendar year (four quarters). Dual graduate degrees If you have a professional interest in addition to social work, you may want to consider one of our interdisciplinary dual or cooperative graduate degree programs, which allow you to earn a degree in international studies, law, divinity or another field, while also earning your MSW. Dual undergraduate/graduate program (for current University of Denver undergraduates only) Highly qualified University of Denver undergraduate students can start working toward an MSW degree during their fourth year, graduating with both degrees in five years, through our dual undergraduate/graduate degree program.
