Program Overview
- Program Description:
- The Clark MSF program instills in students the essential quantitative skills required to analyze and solve the complex problems inherent in the global financial marketplace. In addition to these quantitative skills, the MSF program—offered as a full-time cohort consisting of ten courses and a professional internship that is completed during three semesters and one summer—instructs students in the broader business, leadership and communication capabilities required to succeed in the global financial marketplace. Guided by an esteemed faculty — leading theorists, industry consultants and experienced investors — the MSF program’s highly integrated curriculum provides for both deep and broad study of key finance areas, including risk assessment and management, pricing techniques, evaluation of equities and bonds, and alternative investment strategies. Through intensive coursework, students will become adept at valuing stocks, evaluating and managing financial risk, and developing and managing securities portfolios. With special expertise in alternative investment strategies, Clark professors provide students with superior preparation to become private equity and hedge fund analysts, as well as commodities and currency traders. Clark’s MSF graduates are well positioned for other careers across the corporate spectrum, including investment banking and corporate finance. In addition to completing coursework, most MSF students at Clark participate in internships that provide them with practical experience in finance and business. GSOM students have completed internships with a variety of companies, including Aflac; AIG-Alico; Deloitte Services, LP; IBM Research; KPMG Professional Services; Liberty Mutual; and Merrill Lynch. Clark is one of just five U.S. universities to partner with the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. The Graduate School of Management is accredited by AACSB International — a designation shared by fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide. The Graduate School of Management offers generous scholarships ranging from 25% to 100% of tuition expenses for exceptional students. Competitive candidates for scholarships have strong leadership abilities, professional work experience, or other outstanding qualities that will enrich the cohort group. Clark is located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Just 45 minutes west of Boston and 3 hours north of New York City, Worcester is close to major business hubs, but offers an affordable cost of living for students.
