Already two weeks down in Italy and I have done so much already. There is so much to do here besides seeing the big tourist attractions. Below is a list of activities we have done this past week that are definitely must-sees when visiting Rome.
Italian Opera- We saw Cavalleria Rusticana. The opera was outdoors and in Italian. Since it was in Italian it was hard to understand but the night was enjoyable. It is something interesting to say you did.
Ostia Beaches- The beaches here are amazing. Growing up by the Jersey beaches, Ostia has clean beaches with sparkling clear water. We went to a private beach where we could rent a beach chair, umbrella, and a beach hut for the day. If you want a day to relax on the beach Ostia is the place to go.
Shopping in Prati- If you are in the mood for some shopping, the Prati district is where to be. Prati is the shopping area of Italy where the streets are filled with low-to-high end shops. Spend a couple of hours walking up and down Via Cola di Rienzo then treat yourself to some gelotti!
Of course visiting the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, the Colosseum, and other attractions are must, but these are just a few extras!
