The Yonsei International Summer School(YISS) opened its doors in 1985 and since then, YISS has become an integral park of campus life based on a unique blend of Korean and global cultures. YISS continues to grow and evolve, accommodating the needs of a rapidly changing student body and meeting the challenges of a fast-paced global society. The program has been revamped in order to highlight growing interest in the arts, culture, and humanities while also offering cutting-edge classes in management and economics, global issues, history and social sciences, and science and technology for its over 1,400 students. This summer, we invite you to experience the legendary “Yonsei Spirit” and to join us for an unforgettable summer in the heart of Seoul. You will make life-long friends, build new networks, expand and deepen your academic and cultural horizons, and experience life in one of Asia’s coolest, yet largely undiscovered metropolises of 10 million. Yonsei University offers a 6-week summer program at its Sinchon campus for international students who would like to enjoy the summer in Seoul. The most significant curriculum in YISS program is "Internship program". There are two types of the internships in the summer program and the details of each internship programs are as below. 1) Korea Summer Internship Program Korea Summer Internship Porgram offers YISS students direct exposure to global corporate settings in the hear of Seoul, Korea. Taking advantage of Yonsei University's vast alumni network and strong ties with business and educational partners, the program provides students with the opportunity to gain professional work experience and to build social networks in some of the world's leading companies and organizations. 2) Yonsei Summer Research Internship This program is designed for highly qualified and motivated YISS students who are interested in research projects or advanced coursework. Through participating in projects or work as an intern in Research Institutes / Centers at Yonsei University, students will gain enriched knowledge and hands-on experience in their respective field and interact with outstanding students from around the globe through this unique model for academic exchange. *Summer Internship program is only for students who are registered to YISS * Students will earn 3 academic credits for paricipating in Summer Internship.

Setting Description:

Students who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as well as high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited college or university. *YISS has a minimum GPA requirement for college or university students, which is above 2.5 out of 4.0. All YISS courses are crecit-bearing courses. Credits earned at YISS are transferable to most institutions outside of Korea. For credit transfer, students are advised to consult and obtain approval from their acadmic advisors of the home institution in advance: Credit transferability of a particular YISS Course depends solely on home institutions' policies.
