- The Department of Education offers one master's of education and three certificate programs through the Distance Education department. **MEd in Special Education online program (43 credits) This program is open to anyone with a Bachelor's degree and teaching certification from an accredited 4 year university with final GPA of 3.0 or higher. In keeping with the purpose of teacher education at WCU, the prime mission of the MeD in special education is to prepare the advanced-level teachers who can synthesize and apply self-awareness and general knowledge of a) foundations of the study of disability, b) the learner with disabilities, c) appropriate content for the learner with disabilities, and d) effective classroom pedagogy. **Graduate Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Universal Design for Learning and Assistive Technology (18 credits) This certificate provides professionals, parents, and other community members instruction and training in assessment, pedagogy, and technology that support students that relay on UDL and AT for learning. **Graduate Education Technology Certificate (18 Credits) This certificate provides technology-supported learning experiences that promote and enable the use of technology to improve learning, assessment and instructional practices. It supports and develops the educator identities as fluent users of advanced technology, creative and collaborative problem solvers, ad adaptive, socially aware experts. It addresses the goals of the National Educational Technology Plan and includes access to information during and after the program, using social networking and collaborative projects. **Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurial Education (18 Credits) This is a hybrid/online program that consists of six courses that can be used as a focus of inquiry towards a master's degree. It offers educators an interdisciplinary immersion in experiential learning strategies, entrepreneurial spirit and mindset using 21st century skills relevent to an ever changing global environment: critical thinking, collaboration, communication, problem/project based learning and cyber learning.
