The Master is conceived as a multidisciplinary and research-oriented programme. The programme also aims to develop the state of mind to perform and manage research in a multidisciplinary and international context. Therefore, our students will also be trained in different aspects of research communication and research management.
Discovery-based laboratory
The two-year programme has a strong emphasis on performing research. Its concept will require full-time attendance and will involve active participation in lectures and discovery-based laboratory work to develop the state of mind that drives the progress of science. Structural Biology and Biochemistry
Students who choose to focus on Structural Biology and Biochemistry will gain expert research qualifications in the following subjects:
• Enzymology
• Protein structure determination
• Structure, function and synthesis of biologically active (macro)moleculesS
• Synthesis and applications of fine chemicals
• Structural bioinformatics
Cell and Developmental Biology
Students who choose to focus on Cell and Developmental Biology will gain expert research qualifications in the following subjects:
• (Molecular) immunology and parasitology
• Developmental biology
• Molecular evolution
• Plant molecular biology
• Molecular microbiology

- Setting Description:
- For admission in the Master of Biomolecular Sciences, students need a bachelor degree in the field of biology, chemistry, or biomedical sciences or equivalent.
