- Western's Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program is noted for its flexibility. Students can start the program in January, May, or September, and complete it in as little as one year. A unique feature of the program is the Co-op Program option, which allows students to integrate classroom learning with competitively paid work experience. The MLIS program's dual emphasis on both information technology and service delivery has resulted in the excellent reputation Western graduates have with employers. Applicants are invited from all subject backgrounds. A part-time program is available.

- International Requirements:
- Evidence of proficiency in English is required for applicants born outside Canada whose first language is not English. The required level of proficiency can be demonstrated by an acceptable score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), which must have been administered within the last two years.
