Program Overview
- Program Description:
- The Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience (BCN) program emphasizes the study of behaviour within the framework of evolutionary biology and neuroscience. Graduate students in BCN may choose to study a broad range of topics that cover animal and/or human behaviour in relation to the brain. The expertise of our current faculty members covers a variety of fields, including: neural plasticity, the neural basis of motor control, the neural substrates underlying object, perception and visually guided movement, the neural basis of memory and spatial learning, the neural organization of episodic memory, sexual differentiation of behaviour and, cognition and its regulation by reproductive hormones, neural and behavioural regulation of food intake, animal cognition and behavioural ecology, behavioural toxicology, neuropeptides and behaviour, neural mechanisms involved in pain, fear and avoidance conditioning.
