- Program Description:
The Department of Music offers the Masters of Music in Music Education. The degree includes a comprehensive curriculum of study designed to meet the needs of both the full-time and the part-time graduate student. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in music education or professional certificate in music. All instruction is delivered by a distinguished artist-teacher faculty with extensive credentials and professional experience. Through its programs and associated activities, the Department of Music provides opportunities for the graduate student in music to: develop an advanced level of musical understanding and performance abilities, foster the advancement o creative and critical skills, develop sophisticated pedagogical insights and advanced communicative skills, and produce scholarly and creative works in the fields of music and music education.The Masters of Music in Music Education is a thirty-six (36) semester hour program. Applicants must meet additional departmental requirements before being admitted to the program (i.e., Pass the Music Qualifying Examination and by completing the Applied Performance Evaluation, and etc.).
