- Since the first psychology laboratory was established over 100 years ago, the University of Toronto has consistently been at the forefront of psychological research. An index of our success and influence comes from the report of the 25th International Congress of Psychology (Brussels, 1992) which ranked the impact of our department to be among the top 10 in the world. Our faculty has changes a great deal since then, but our department continues to be among the best in the world. With over 60 full-time faculty members and 100 graduate students, the department contains laboratories in all major fields of psychological research (aging, brain & behaviour, cognition, cross-cultural, developmental, learning, neuroscience, perception, personality, and social).
