Program Description:

Our research-intensive M.A.Sc./Ph.D. programs with a wide choice of areas for advanced study that will challenge and reward students looking for the best education available. The M.A.Sc. program consists of three one-term courses and a dissertation based on research completed under the close supervision of a professor. The Ph.D. program consists of an additional four one-term courses and a more extensive research program leading to a dissertation. Students have an opportunity to bypass the M.A.Sc. degree after one year and enroll directly in the Ph.D. program. We have excellent support and computational and experimental facilities. In addition to the two research degrees, we offer an M.Eng. degree, which currently consists of seven one-term courses and a smaller project. This degree is designed for students wishing to broaden their knowledge base, and may be taken part-time. Also, a new 12 month, 10 course M.Eng. degree is planned for 2007/2008 that will include advanced instruction in professional skills along with high quality technical courses.
