Program Description:

Statistics is the science and art of planning and modeling stochastic observations and making inferences from them. The theories and methods for doing this use a wide range of mathematics, including probability, analysis, numerical analysis, and computing. Much of the mathematics is applied through the medium of statistics to the physical and social sciences, medicine, business, engineering, and many other areas.
