Program Overview

Program Description:

Both criminology and criminal justice increasingly have international and comparative dimensions. This programme uses a comparative and international perspective to explore key issues in criminology and criminal justice.

The MA in International Criminology (MAIC) is distinctive because it includes elements of international criminology, restorative justice and research training. Its international outlook is apparent both from its core modules, and because other modules take an international perspective on the various issues that they address. There is also a strong focus on restorative justice which reflects a view of criminal justice which is to be found on several continents.

ESRC recognition has been awarded for this course and the programme offers 1+3 ESRC studentships.  These offer funding for one year of the MA in International Criminology followed by three years' research in a criminological subject area leading to the award of PhD.  Please check the website during the winter months for details.
