Program Overview
- Program Description:
This subject crosses many disciplines. The choice of modules includes many in the departments of Archaeology, Human Communication Studies, Linguistics, Philosophy, and Psychology. You will be based in the Department of Philosophy but you are free to specialize in any of the other subjects.
You'll study the key theoretical issues and how they relate to empirical findings on the development and functioning of human cognition. There is no formal division between the research and taught tracks. If you want to carry on to do a PhD, you'll apply for funding during the MA.
Studentships: If you qualify, you may be able to get financial support through the University's studentships and fee waivers, and the new AHRC Block Grant Partnership.

- We are pleased to offer the Sheffield Scholarship 2016 to all US students commencing a Taught Masters programme in September 2016. The scholarships are: • £2,000 if your tuition fees are between £14,500 and £16,500 • £2,500 for each student paying fees of £16,501 and upwards We also offer scholarships of 50% of the course fee which will be offered on the basis of academic merit.
