This programme is designed for recent graduates who want to acquire specialist knowledge before starting their careers and for practising solicitors who want to complement their work with further study.
The programme will be of interest to legal practitioners, those in business and those people in the public sector who encounter various aspects of international and European law.
European law and the study of law in its international context are major specialist areas within this law school, and this programme draws on the renowned expertise of staff engaged in research in these subjects. Lawyers with expertise in international and European law are increasingly in demand; this programme will enable you to acquire specialist knowledge before starting your legal career. We also welcome legal practitioners, those in business, and people in the private and public sectors who encounter various aspects of international and European law and wish to deepen their knowledge to Masters level.
The degree is based on a core first semester, which will provide you with the essential international and European law principles required for further study. You will then broaden your substantive knowledge through studying a range of options in Semester Two. A dissertation on a specific area allows you to develop your research skills and in-depth understanding under the supervision of an expert member of staff.

- We are pleased to offer the Sheffield Scholarship 2016 to all US students commencing a Taught Masters programme in September 2016. The scholarships are: • £2,000 if your tuition fees are between £14,500 and £16,500 • £2,500 for each student paying fees of £16,501 and upwards We also offer scholarships of 50% of the course fee which will be offered on the basis of academic merit.
