Program Description:

The Intensive Spanish and Chilean Culture Summer Programs are designed for students at all levels of Spanish language proficiency who wish to focus their studies on Spanish language acquisition. Students will take two Spanish language courses focused on the development of all language skills. The program will also provide an introduction to Chilean culture, thus facilitating students’ adjustment to life in Chile. Courses meet for 45 hours each and students receive 3 credits per course for a total of 6 credits.

Services included: airport pick up/drop off, welcome and orientation, tuition and registration, cultural exchange with local students, UST International Programs Staff support, Homestay (the option of living with a Chilean family), excursions, cultural activities, social activities, volunteer and internships opportunities, university services.

Setting Description:

Viña del Mar and Valparaíso are two sister cities that jointly offer a great university experience. They have the largest number of universities and students in Chile, making it an attractive center for educational institutions and business. Viña del Mar is located in the central area of the country at the foot of the Andes Mountains and its coasts are bathed by the Pacific Ocean.
