The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program is a unique, innovative educational program that prepares marriage and family therapists to address the varied mental health needs of children, adults, and families, including those with severe mental illnesses.

Our curriculum blends rigorous and collaborative classroom learning with action through fieldwork opportunities as diverse as the city we call home. The Program is offered at the Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, and Santa Rosa campuses.

“I chose to pursue my graduate education at USF after six years of volunteering as a sexual assault crisis counselor. I was drawn to USF for the focus on experiential learning and the opportunity to work closely with the faculty.” - Morgan Cosby Howson, Marriage & Family Therapy MA Alumna
