Program Description:

The M.A. in History program is a specialized study in the field of history. The basic courses provide the students with the foundations of the philosophy and methods in the study, research and writing of history. It is also a specialized training in the methods of local and oral history research. The major courses introduce the information in historical research and interpretation. Moreover the major courses also provide a venue for an in-depth analysis of selective problems in Philippine History and Historiography as well as other global historical developments with particular interest in the role and impact of the capitalist world system on modern historical developments. The elective courses expose the students to comparative and parallel studies of the historical developments in areas and regions outside the Philippines.
