- The Graduate School of Public Health offers courses of study and research in many areas, including biostatistics, chronic disease epidemiology, community health services, health administration, health policy analysis, human genetics, genetic counseling, environmental and occupational health, environmental and occupational medicine, health promotion and education, infectious disease epidemiology, infectious diseases and microbiology, nutritional epidemiology (for registered dietitians), psychiatric epidemiology, public health social work, and public health statistics. Involvement in such specific research units as the Center for Public Health Practice, the Center for Minority Health Research, Health Policy Institute, the Pittsburgh Genetics Institute, and the Health Services Research Unit is possible.
