Program Description:

The course provides a 'fast track' to the study of business management and is multi disciplinary in nature. It draws on and synthesises aspects of economics, law, human resources, marketing, management and information and communications technology. The course is structured in three distinct stages namely: the Certificate in Business Development, Diploma in Management Studies and Master of BusinessAdministration. The Certificate provides both a practical and conceptual base for business development, with a particular emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation. It also builds personal management techniques necessary for effective management. All students complete a project which requires the production of an effective business plan. Strategic management issues are integrated at MBA stage where the aim is to provide an understanding of strategy and decision-making at corporate level as well as providing an understanding of strategic management in general. Interwoven through this are traditional management skills which are discussed in an integrative manner in market-oriented areas of analysis. The emphasis throughout the Diploma and MBA stages is on the management of the business to achieve organisational objectives.
