Program Overview
- Program Description:
- The world of education has been experiencing profound changes in recent years. Teachers today have even more need of the opportunity to undertake further professional development in order to broaden and deepen their understanding of curricular issues and strategies for learning and teaching. To this end, the University's Faculty of Education offers a number of Postgraduate Certificate courses, Diploma courses and an MEd for teachers working in preschool, primary, secondary and further education. The MEd programme offers a range of pathways with exit points at Certificate and Diploma levels, involving a combination of classes delivered either by contact or distance-learning mode, along with a research Dissertation. Study is on a part-time basis, with scope for participants to complete awards at their own pace. Each Certificatecourse is made up of four modules. Course members register initially for a named Certificate pathway. On successful completion of the four modules, students have the option of exiting with the appropriate Certificate award, or of continuing towards the Diploma in Educational Studies or MEd.
