Program Overview
- Program Description:
Oxford University's Said Business School offers a DPhil Programme with a focus on either Management Research or Financial Economics. The programme is designed for students wishing to pursue academic careers in leading universities or wishing to find positions in commerce, industry and government which will benefit from advanced research capabilities. Full scholarships are available for a number of doctoral students. Whether you have recently graduated or have a number of years experience in business, government or academia, if you have an intellectual curiosity and a desire to complete a challenging piece of research, are self-motivated, able to work independently, have a mature approach to time management, and the ability to read widely and critically, then we look forward to welcoming you here.
The School's approach is markedly interdisciplinary, and our research programmes draw on Oxford's strengths in subjects as diverse as sociology, economics, law, psychology, politics, science, technology and international relations. Working at the interface of disciplines, faculty and researchers are currently exploring issues such as the politics of global business, the rise of science entrepreneurship and the management of innovation, and the social and commercial impact of information systems and the Internet. Within Oxford University, the Saïd Business School is one of the largest providers of postgraduate education. The School is home to a vibrant research community comprising over 80 researchers and around 100 faculty members. We want to attract the very best students, regardless of personal background, to study at Oxford. Then we want to help their talents to develop and flourish.
