The aim of the programme is to give students knowledge of and insight into NordicViking and medieval culture from ca. 800 to ca. 1350, with particular emphasis onNorway. This course of study is interdisciplinary and is intended to provide knowledgewithin humanistic fields of study in the Nordic Viking Period and the Middle Ages.Criticism of sources will be a central element of the programme. The programme is alsointended to provide deeper insight through an academic dissertation and is meant to qualifystudents for work in the cultural sector and teaching, as well as for further research.
