Program Overview
- Program Description:
The Master’s program is comprised of two fields: 1) Nuclear Power and 2) Radiological and Health Physics. The Nuclear Power field covers nuclear reactor design and development, fuel and material performance and radioactive waste management. The Radiological and Health Physics field concentrates on the many and varied applications of radiation in industrial and medical disciplines, with a strong emphasis on health physics. Graduates of these programs will be well prepared to contribute to the high demand for engineers and scientists with advanced knowledge and skills needed to design and develop new techniques, operate and maintain existing equipment and ensure that the benefits of nuclear technology are applied as widely as possible. MASc students obtain their degree through successful completion of a combination of course-work and a research thesis, while MEng students achieve their degrees through course-based learning, with the option to carry out a major project. The PhD program is comprised of the following two fields: Nuclear Power and Energy Applications, and Radiological and Health Physics. PhD students will obtain their degree through successful completion of a combination of courses and a dissertation.
