Program Overview
- Program Description:
- The Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate programs in Modelling and Computational Science are led by an interdisciplinary faculty team. The programs are at the confluence of mathematics, science, and computer science and teachstudents how to use mathematical modelling when studying real-world phenomena. The computational science component combines the implementation of mathematical models, computer algorithms and knowledge in a particular area of application in order to provide an additional tool for the study of phenomena and to facilitate the study of problems that are difficult to examine using conventional approaches. MSc students achieve their degrees through a combination of courses and a research thesis or through a course-based option. The PhD program includes two fields: 1) Scientific Computing, and 2) Computational Physical Sciences. PhD students will obtain their degree through a combination of advanced coursework and a dissertation.
