Program Overview

Program Description:
The College of Science, College of Engineering and Mendoza College of Business have created an M.S. in Engineering, Science and Technology Entrepreneurship (ESTEEM). The ESTEEM Program prepares science, engineering, and mathematics majors for the business world where business uses innovation to benefit society through technologies such as healthcare, alternative energies, and sustainability. The program provides an 11 month entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship immersion focused on leading-edge science and engineering. The goal is to develop the entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial skills scientists and engineers need to commercialize new science and engineering inventions. The unique curriculum focuses on developing business acumen (17 credit hours) while deepening scientific domain strengths (6 credit hours). The Capstone thesis project (9 credit hours) creates a complete commercialization plan for a new-to-the-world technology. This program starts classes in late June for May graduation with university commencement ceremonies. And do it all in just one year, while making yourself more marketable with ESTEEM. Merit scholarships are available to help offset the cost of tuition of this professional master's program. Most domestic students take advantage pay for their education with student loans. These students work with the campus financial aid office to obtain these loans. Career Opportunities Whether your goal is to work for an established company in a business related capacity, or you desire to develop and bring to market a new idea or product of your own, Notre Dame’s ESTEEM program will provide the core understanding of business principles needed to complement your already established scientific, mathematic or engineering skill set. Post-graduation plans range from small start-ups to large companies like Google, Accenture, Huron Consulting, Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM, Cumberland Consulting, Qualcomm, Clarity, Epic, Arteriocyte, ABIS, BGB Consulting, Westmoreland Partners, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and Zimmer. Some graduates go on to medical school, while some pursue other opportunities, such as the enFocus Fellowship Program.
