Program Description:

The School of Medicine & Health Sciences, Department of Family & Community Medicine, Physician Assistant Program, offers a clinically oriented degree in Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Physician Assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. They are skilled members of the health care team delivering accessible and comprehensive medical services to individuals, families, and communities. The program prepares selected health care professionals to become competent physician assistants working collaboratively with physician supervision, emphasizing primary care in rural and/or underserved areas of North Dakota, the United States and the world. The MPAS degree is offered through a combination of online courses, on campus study, and extensive clinical experiences. The program is accredited by ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.).

Applicants who are seeking admission to Graduate School must meet all of the minimum general graduate school admission requirements identified in the Graduate School Catalog. In addition, the prospective students must fulfill the requirements for admission to the graduate program to which they are applying.

International Requirements:

All graduate applicants must demonstrate academic-level proficiency with the English language before they will be considered for admission. This requirement must be met by all applicants, regardless of citizenship, residency, or nation of birth. No applicants will be considered for admission until the English Language Proficiency is met.
