Program Overview

Program Description:
Within the Division of Biological Sciences, nine faculty share a common interest in evolutionary biology and ecology, and together with their students carry out field and laboratory studies on evolutionary questions in a variety of sites in North America (including the University's Tucker Prairie Research Station), the Caribbean, the Galapagos, the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and California coast ranges. The University of Missouri is a member institution of the Organization for Tropical Studies. Seven of our graduate students have participated in OTS programs in the last four years. Faculty possess special expertise in behavioral genetics and physiological and community ecology and the multi-disciplinary nature of the program enables students to obtain both breadth and depth of training in evolutionary biology and ecology.
