Program Description:
The M.A. in Teaching program prepares students to be competent, caring and reflective educators who are certified to teach grades 6 through 12 in chosen content areas. There are multiple combinations for teaching major(s) and minor(s). The program’s curriculum consists of academic study, professional preparation and field experience, providing students with pedagogical and content-specific knowledge, readying them to work with diverse learners in the middle school and high school classroom. Throughout the program, students gain the experience they need to apply technology to the 21st century classroom. Graduates earn both their master's degree and the faculty's recommendation to the state board of education leading to a Michigan Secondary Provisional Certificate.
