Program Overview

Program Description:
The Department of Computer Science offers a range of programs, including two Master's options (thesis and coursework) and a Ph.D program. The M.Sc. thesis-based program consists of a combination of coursework and a research component. In the coursework M.Sc. program, students are required to take a minimum of 24 credit hours of coursework, with 18 credit hours at the 7000 level (the remaining 6 credit hours may be at either the 7000 level or the 4000 level). The Ph.D. option is designed to be a 3-5 year program consisting of coursework and a substantial research component. By pursuing a graduate degree, students can deepen their knowledge of computer science beyond the skills and techniques acquired through an undergraduate degree, and explore more specialized and advanced topics. Graduate studies also provide students with a unique opportunity to engage in compelling and state-of-the-art research under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
