- The Department of Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology at the University of Louisville offers an integrated andindividualized program of graduate study leading to the Ph.D. or M.S. degree. Training is available in most areas of modern anatomical research, with emphasis on neurobiology, including sensory systems, developmental neuroscience, electrophysiology, neurochemistry, cell-cell and nerve-muscle interaction, neurotrophic influences and neuroplasticity, in normal and diseased states. The program has two basic objectives: to train individuals to perform independent, original and innovative research, and to educate scholars to teach in medical and other graduate programs. The Ph.D. program usually requires four to five years of study, while the M.S. requires a minimum of two years.
