Program Description:

This is a flexible scheme offered by the Centre for Applied Statistics and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Itdraws upon the acknowledged strengths of social science and social statistics at Lancaster and has mode Aapproval by the ESRC for research studentship awards. The balance between the statistics and substantivecomponents of the research is tailored to the individual student's interests and background. There is provision for joint supervision by the Centre and a social science department, where appropriate. Necessary statistics training is provided.
