- Program Description:
- Sport and Exercise Psychology is the scientific study of people and their behaviours in sport and exercice contexts and the practical application of that knowledge. Sport and exercise psychology builds on the scientific fields of psychology, education, and sport and health sciences. The two-year Master’s programme is designed for both Finnish and international students. The programme consists of 120 ECTS credits equaling to two-year full-time study and is conducted fully in English. The programme leads to a Master of Science Degree in Sport Sciences and qualifies graduates for doctoral-level studies. The aim of the Master's Degree Programme in Sport and Exercise Psychology is to provide high-standard research-oriented Master-level education through English in the multidisciplinary field of Sport and Exercise Psychology (SEP). The programme will equip the student with the necessary knowledge and competencies required to move into the academic field of sport and exercice psychology. This is done by developing students’ knowledge and skills in working with the issues of motivation, high performance, behaviour regulation, cognition, exercise counselling and preventive interventions within contexts of sport and exercise. The broad educational aim is to train professionals to serve individuals and community accordance with best professional practice.
