Program Description:

The Master of Science in Sport Management degree program at the University of Indianapolis is designed to prepare students for employment within an intercollegiate athletics department, conference office or national governing agency.

Students complete 36 credit hours of study, which can be completed in one year or 2 year tracks. Most courses are conducted in a hybrid format consisting of face-to-face and distance learning sessions. Students who complete this program will be prepared for employment with various operating areas within the field of intercollegiate athletics. Possible operating areas include: • Compliance • Facility/Operations Management • Ticket Office Management • Development (sales, sponsorships, fundraising) • Sports Information • Media Relations • Business Office Management The program prepares students to effectively perform in the above settings through coursework focused upon the following topics: • Institutional compliance • Facility and risk management • Revenue generation/ sales & sponsorships • Sport information/ media relations • Human resources management • Organizational leadership • Data & financial management
