Program Description:

M.S. in Anatomical Sciences provides the background necessary for students to teach anatomy and physiology at the college level, which is in high demand due to an explosion of new health science careers and educational programs throughout Indiana and the United States.  Junior college and undergraduate levels are in the most demand, particularly in the fields of nursing and sports medicine.

The basic science focus of the program also provides students the opportunity to enter into a range of professional schools, including: medical, dental, osteopathic, chiropractic, optometry, physical therapy, and veterinary. Through the courses in this program, students will learn valuable skills and knowledge to enhance their qualifications, challenge themselves at the graduate level, and prepare for a career teaching anatomy. 

Although demand for health science professionals and educators is high, the national admission rates for professional schools, or similar institutions, are only 30 to 40 percent of more than 70,000 applicants. The Master of Science in Anatomical Sciences program serves as a bridge for students who want to apply to these schools but need to boost their credentials.
