Program Description:
We teach our new interdisciplinary MA Philosophy, Politics and Environmental Issues jointly with out Department of Government. It provides you with advanced, critical knowledge of past and present philosophical conceptions nature, both within continental and analytic philosophy. Our other modules enable you to study the political and social issues concerning nature and the environment. This allows you to chart the new and quickly developing field of environmental ethics, introducing you to the main theories in this area. You will acquire the basics of the natural science behind environmental problems (such as global warming and ozone depletion) and develop your knowledge of the most important theories and concepts in environmental politics. Graduates will be well prepared to enter employment in various areas such as academia and non-governmental organisations, as well as entering government itself.
