Program Description:
This course allows students to study within the Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies and the Department of Language and Linguistics. Students can choose a wide range of modules from within both departments, for example (within the Department of Language and Linguistics) possible options include sociolinguistics, pragmatics, literature and discourse, language teaching, English in communication, media and institutions, genre analysis, and variations in English. This course should be of interest to students whose future careers may include both the teaching of English language and English literature, who wish to gain knowledge of how literature may be applied in the teaching of language or want to gain experience in the study of each discipline at a postgraduate level.
