Essex Business School was ranked second in the UK for the accounting and finance subject area in the last RAE and teaching within the School is informed by a broad range of social science theories and concepts that are applied to some of the pressing issues facing business, public sector and voluntary organisations.

This course is intended for students interested in following advanced study in corporate governance and related accounting topics. Students can explore continuing professional development opportunities or enrich their knowledge of corporate governance.

Compulsory modules offer the opportunity to discuss critically many of the recent developments in both theoretical and empirical approaches to corporate governance. Furthermore, in order to prepare students for writing their dissertation, there is a full year module on research methodologies and methods, the coverage of which includes both quantitative and qualitative approaches to empirical research.
