Program Description:
Overview The Outcomes Performance Certificate Program at the University of Detroit Mercy provides qualified nurses with an opportunity to gain specialty knowledge in important areas including patient outcomes, quality improvement, nursing informatics, and health systems management. Nurses working in or aspiring to positions in management, quality improvement, or other leadership areas will benefit from the knowledge and skills they will gain from this program. Those completing the certificates may choose to go on towards a Master's Degree in Nursing in Health Systems Management. Those completing the certificates may choose to go on towards a Master's Degree in Nursing in Health Systems Management. Required Courses: •NUR 5120 Quality Improvement and Strategic Planning for Health Professionals 3 cr. •NUR 5300 Nursing Informatics 3 cr. •NUR 5400 Management of Health Systems 3 cr. •NUR 5600 Management of Patient Outcomes 3 cr. Total 12 cr.

Requirements:
(1) A baccalaureate degree in nursing or another field (2) A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (3) A minimum of 2000 hours as a registered nurse (4) A license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan (5) One letters of professional recommendation with someone in supervisory capacity (6) An autobiographical statement of personal goals and objectives (7) An interview with graduate faculty
International Requirements:
All course work completed outside the U.S. and Canada must be formally evaluated by either the World Education Services or the Educational Credential Evaluators. A course-by-course/detailed evaluation report is required by the University of Detroit Mercy.
