Program Overview

Program Description:

Where better to prepare for today’s regulatory business environment than a school known for excellence in both ethics and accounting? The public focus on reporting and compliance has expanded the scope and responsibilities of the accounting industry. Today, accountants are in the middle of the action when it comes to making decisions that affect an enterprise’s mission and strategy.

The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver made teaching values-based leadership a priority long before corporate scandals or Sarbanes-Oxley.

Consequently, our accounting students graduate with a solid grounding in ethics and corporate social responsibility. Not to mention being ready to pass the CPA exam (our students regularly place in the top 10%) and find a rewarding career
(95-100% of our Master of Accountancy graduates accept positions within three months).

At Daniels, we constantly refine the accounting curriculum to meet the demands of the profession—and to anticipate future trends. We carefully listen to the opinions of accountants, managers, executives, business owners, alumni and recruiters to learn what’s new and important today and what will be important tomorrow. Then we refine the program to ensure it delivers the knowledge and skills industry
leaders say you need.

In addition to accounting core courses and electives, students in the 50 credit hour Master of Accountancy program take The Daniels Compass, innovative integrated courses that give all our graduate students a foundation in business ethics and sustainable development.

At the School of Accountancy, you join a small, motivated community of lifelong learners. With an average class size of 14 and a faculty/student ratio of 1:14, you’ll
enjoy close ties with student colleagues and faculty alike.
