Program Description:: The master's degree in the Leadership of Healthcare Organizations focuses on building leadership and management skills for healthcare professionals with an emphasis on clinical process improvement. The program is designed to equip graduates with the advanced knowledge and skills that are essential for managing the escalating challenges in today's competitive healthcare environment. The curriculum integrates a focus on critical healthcare issues with foundation business knowledge such as finance, law, technology, and leadership topics including inspiring team performance and implementing organizational change. Through a highly interactive, seminar-style classroom environment with peers and faculty, participants directly apply recently learned business knowledge and insights to current healthcare situations and challenges.

Accreditation:: The degree is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This is the accrediting body for the University of California. UC Graduate degree programs go through graduate academic reviews of their curriculum/faculty/administration every 7 years by the Graduate Council.

Requirements:: Items considered during the admissions review: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, or the equivalent, with training comparable in standard and content to that provided by the University of California Minimum undergraduate/post-baccalaureate record (a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the final two years of study expected) Minimum of five years of professional work in health care or a related field. (Internship experience counts) Completion of online application for graduate admission Resume or curriculum vitae Compelling statement of purpose including a description of individual strengths and interests and how the program will benefit the applicant professionally Strength of the letters of recommendation (3) TOEFL scores (International Applicants) NOTE: GRE/GMAT results are not required for the MAS degree.
