Program Overview

Program Description:

 Help students learn to read and write clearly, creatively, critically, skillfully, and effectively with a Certificate in Reading from UCR Extension. The program has been approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Candidates who complete the program will also have met the prerequisite first half of a state-approved Reading Specialist Credential program.

The program emphasizes the early and continuing development of reading and language arts skills, as well as the expeditious implementation of strategies for avoidance or correction of reading difficulties.
