he Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine offers the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy to graduate students in the sciences and health-related professions. The program emphasizes the application of basic biomedical disciplines—biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, histology, and histochemistry—to the elucidation of disease processes. The objective is to develop broadly based scientists to fill the needs of academic, government, and industrial organizations.
