Program Description:
The University of Alabama School of Social Work offers programs of study in Tuscaloosa, Gadsden, Mobile and Montgomery sites. For all but advanced-standing students, the M.S.W. program is a sixty-semester-hour course of study. The first part of the program is professional foundation content and is normally completed during the first year of enrollment. The second year students take concentration classes and field placement. Students in the Advanced-Standing program take bridge courses during the summer of the first year and join the second-year students in the fall. The goal of the program is to educate students for advanced social work practice and leadership roles.
