Program Overview
- Program Description:
- Through our program, you will be able to take your background and interests in biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, communication, regulation, or law to the next step -- with a Masters Degree in Biomaterials that will open doors for you at leading health-care firms, start-up innovative companies, and federal regulator agencies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as suiting you for private practice. The field of biomaterials is the "platform technology" connecting materials science and bioengineering. Areas of specialization include, but are not limited to, biomedical engineering, implants, biotechnology, food processing, ocean engineering, and public health. Courses and research topics develop comprehensive knowledge of materials used in biological systems, from bio/surface molecular interactions to device design requirements.
