Program Description:

The University at Albany's exchange affiliation with the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Milan was developed for students who want to study at a regular Italian university with the opportunity to take some courses in English, in addition to Italian language and culture courses. Students with advanced Italian language proficiency may take regular university courses in Italian. Founded in 1921, the University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore offers students the chance to study with other international students from around the world. Although UCSC is a Catholic university, there are no religious requirements or obligations.

There are three different types of courses offered at UCSC in Milan: 1. The English Assisted Study (EASY) program, which offers a variety of courses taught in English. 2. Regular UCSC university courses taught in Italian. You must be very proficient in Italian in order to enroll in these courses, as they are intended for native speakers of Italian. 3. Italian language courses for absolute beginners, lower intermediate, and upper intermediate level students. Students can choose from an intensive Italian language course (3 SUNY credits) beginning about one week before the regular semester begins and/or a semester-length course (2 SUNY credits) that continues throughout the semester. Any student can enroll in these language courses, in conjunction with the EASY program courses that are taught in English and/or regular UCSC courses taught in Italian.
