Program Overview

Program Description:

The program aims at graduate students who are seeking further research in the field of molecular and cellular biology and biotechnology. A PhD project concentrates on fundamental and application-oriented research with the connecting theme 'molecular dynamics of the living cell'. Working groups are clustered in three research themes that focus on related aspects of cell function: (I) Protein System, (II) Metabolic Network and Gene Expression, (III) Dynamic Cellular Organisation. All research can be characterized by an interdisciplinary approach from different fields such as Biochemistry, Biophysics, Cytology, Genetics, Microbiology and Molecular Biology. The biotechnical research focuses on industrially important micro-organisms and crops.
